I'm going back to work in 2 weeks and I'm in need of daycare for my daughter.  I wasn't planning on going back to work but I have to. :(

Can anyone recommend a daycare or home daycare in or near st clair shores michigan?  Or any websites that might help me find one?  I've searched yahoo for ages and can only find a few home daycare web pages.

I have been looking for good websites, communities, and/or blogs that provide good resources and ideas for before & after school programs as well as summer day camps. I can find great sites for teachers and curriculum for classrooms but the themes and lessons should be a little more relaxed and fun for my type of program. I have searched live journal and various other sites but most the things I find are more for babysitters or homeschoolers. Please help!

Boy, this place has been pretty barren for a while. Is anyone out there? :)

My kids and I have spent the morning painting and I have a recommendation for the paint we used. Anyone familiar with Biocolor foam paint? It's GREAT! There are 11 different colors, and it comes in a spray can! It comes out as a foam, so there's no watery mess, and you can spray it into dixie cups for use. A little of it goes a LONG way too. It's non toxic, it dries almost instantly on the paper, and it's completely washable if you get it on clothes. It's available through Discount School Supply. I just love their catalog too...there's tons of neat things for art projects in it. But the paint is really cool.

Hey! My name is Diana and I am thinking about starting an in-home daycare with my sister, Danielle, next Fall. Right now I'm just in the researching stage. Does anybody have advice on books or website about starting your own daycare?

What time frame do most of you operate your child care services from?

Are you looking for a nifty Halloween food idea for this week? Try making Mummy Dogs!! This is the second year I've done them and the kids love them! Just buy some Pillsbury breadstick dough, and wrap the hot dogs in the breadstick dough. Leave the top part of the hot dog exposed, and when you're done wrapping it up, pull some of it over the top to give the dog a little "pillow". Sprinkle with some season salt, garlic powder and Italian seasoning and bake at 375 for 10-15 minutes. They turn out looking like this:

Mummy Dogs

Sorry the photo's a bit crappy. Took it with my phone camera. They're really good and shamefully easy. The picture in the recipe book puts 2 little dots of mustard and 2 poppy seeds on them for eyes but my kids don't like that so I leave it off. Hope this is a helpful recipe for ya!!

Happy Halloween everyone!!
