HI I just found out that my babysitter is quiting on me and was thinking of starting to do Home day care so I can stay home with my toddler. I know there are alot of classes I can take at hte local community college but are thell all necessairy or are there other means to go about this. And also how do I get certified by the state. I want to do this in 6 months is possible but want to know where to go and what to do. Any help would be great.

You should join my community day_care_pals! =) It just depends on what kind of day care that you want to run, out of your home? Are you going to want to accept state paid kids? Call your local DHS and ask them what rules there are! =)

Home Day Care

Our state has all of their info listed on a website...
http://www.ocfs.state.ny.us/main/becs/ Maybe your state has a website like this as well. Ours has all the regulations, info on training and support, etc. Our state also offers start up grants to help you get your house ready. I got a $500 start up grant to help me with safety things like smoke detectors, fire extinguishers, nap mats, a pack-n-play, a high chair, a swing, and they even have a toy lending library, and I borrow toys from them for the kids to play with.
Hope this helps!
